Cottage Garden

Today I set some time aside to start working on a new pattern collection. One of the ideas I came up with is this floral motif shown in various colour ways below, I was inspired by my floral photographs I recently took, which are featured in my  'Friday Floral Delight' post.  

I drew the components which make up the design separately and digitally coloured and positioned them. The fun part of working digitally is being able to experiment with scale, colour and layout. This Cottage Garden design looks ready for spring 2013!

Friday Floral Delight

As you probably have guessed by now if you follow my blog, I love flowers and any sort of floral pattern or print. I find myself taking photos of flowers quite a lot, they don't last long and when a flowers is blooming at it's best I like to capture it before it dies, this gives me reference to draw from or be inspired for a pattern design later on. You can find beautiful colours, patterns and forms even in one single petal. So feast your eyes on a few of my photographs below....

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I'm in the process of setting up my Etsy store...

Etsy is an online marketplace where like minded creatives can use it as a place to buy and sell beautiful handmade items.
